Whose smile makes you happiest?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 31, 2007:

Me
The smile of children makes me the happiest, because their smiles are innocent and unassuming with a genuine ignorant bliss behind them.

Would you rather live in a treehouse or cave?

Posted on Sep 7th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 07, 2007:

On one hand I think i'd rather live in a treehouse for the general clean air and view from up high in the tree, but then with how much trees are being cut down, maybe it would be safer to live in a cave.

Maybe, however, if humans lived in trees, those trees would not be cut down.

What are your feelings about 9/11?

Posted on Sep 11th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 11, 2007:

Peace_one_day
9/11 I feel was a rude awakening for America, and a sad day for Islam/Muslims.

I will relay a story that a friend of mine told me of a former classmate of hers.  She said her classmate had always thought it was funny to kick guys in the nuts, so one day when she was about to my friend had advise her not too, she didn't listen and proceeded to kick the guy in the nuts.  She was too busy laughing to notice that the guy didn't think it was funny at all and proceeded to punch her in the face.

I don't know what happened after that, but any logical person would say that this guy had justified reason for his action, but of course some may have just seen it as a guy punching a girl in the face and thinking it is a ridiculous act, and the girl could have put on the whole "you're a monster? how could you do that?!" routine.  So now a guy who sought to only give her a piece of her own medicine has now become a monster in the public eye.

I think the point is obvious.

I also look at this day as a sad day for Islam, because as a result of a radical offshoot that claims to be representing Islam, the Muslims of the world (who are against terrorism) have and continue to experience great persecution.

I think 9/11 should be remembered as the day that America felt the pain that money other countries such as Panama and Japan have experienced from America.  It should be a day when we come to realize that no good is produced from acts of evil, to quote Rev. Cornelius from 'The Fifth Element', "evil begets evil".  We should take a really good look at why it is that we are fighting each other, and what is stopping us from letting go and forgiving.  To be a Christian wishing destruction of the Muslims is no better than Muslims wishing destruction on Christians.

We should examine the logic of hating/persecuting others in the name of religion, and really try to understand the guiding principles of the faith based on its scriptures (not of the way certain people choose to direct the faith).  We should learn to realize that we are really the weak ones losing when we kill flesh and blood, and rather stronger ones winning when we forgive.  I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who said, "Am I not destroying my enemies when I make them my friends?

Remember that this body is only but a vehicle for our soul to develop itself.  The body is controlled by the ego, and overly concerned with itself, thinking it is more important than the soul.  What is good for our ego is many times contrary to the development of our soul, the more important of the two.  For life of the body is quite limited in comparison to that of the soul.

How strong is your ego?

I don't feel that my ego is that strong.  In the sense of the mind that looks to please the desires of the body, I would say that my hardest area is lust, the desire for sexual pleasure.  I am otherwise pretty respectful and understanding, and recently have become more forgiving.

What was the greatest spiritual challenge of your life?

Not to sound like a broken record, but I would have to say that the ordeal with my pseudo-baby-mama-ex.  It was a pivotal point in my life where I could have gone down a self-destructive path, or self-realization path.  I was able to overcome and choose the latter.

About what are you most judgmental?

Posted on Sep 12th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 12, 2007:

I would say that I am most judgemental of people's hiding behind 'masks', trying to portray an image that is not genuine.   And those who try to convince us of something, that they themselves aren't convinced of e.g. false Preachers, fake thugs.

If you had to become a monk or nun, what religion would you choos

Posted on Sep 13th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 13, 2007:

Interesting question.  Now considering monk to mean one who is completely detached from all else save the virtues of the belief system he follows, disregarding whether or not the faith actually has monks per se, I would choose the Baha'i Faith.  This is because I do not look at any of the major 'religions' as being separate.  The points of view of certain human individuals who promote the particular religion may differ, but the root principles of all of them come from the Universal Truth of God (or whatever name one chooses to refer to Him as).

I would have to say my 5th grade teacher.  I can't really say why, but I chose her because she is the one who I have had the longest running relationship with as I grew older.

If a child asked you about God, how would you answer?

Posted on Sep 16th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 15, 2007:

Hmmm... this would be pretty simple if I was asked to explain this to an adult, but for a child....

Well I would tell them that God is the indescribable creative entity from which all things were created including ourselves.  I would let that child know that as a human being he/she has an essence of God, and in essence responsible for managing that which was created by God.

What's the most difficult thing you've forgiven?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 18, 2007:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'd have to say my ex-girlfriend.  It was so hard because I was hurting down to the bone and she had basically completely disrespected me, seeming to intend to drive me 'over the edge'.

God's grace saved me.

Under what circumstances, if any, would you lie?

If I truly and honestly felt that it would do more harm than good to be truthful.  i.e. it may not be necessary for that person to know, but if they knew it they may not be able to handle it.

Otherwise, to protect someone from a retarded law. e.g. the war on plants

What's the best letter you've ever received?

Posted on Sep 23rd, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 21, 2007:

I don't really get letters in the mail, which I guess makes it all the more special, was from my friend Lisa when she was over in Cabo Verde visiting family one summer.

the other letter that I was gonna say was good not because of the content, but the presentation.  I believe it was BellSouth that sent out a letter of solicitation for Valentines, and made it look like a letter/card from an admirer.

Right now, who do you miss the most?

Posted on Sep 23rd, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 22, 2007:

Daddy
I would have to say, my father I miss the most right now.

I miss him, because when I finally understood why the relationship between us wasn't that strong, and I was about to have the chance to work on it having finished University, he passed away.

So when he died, it was like a lost opportunity to close a chapter in the book on our relationship.

I have come to accept that I won't have that opportunity again, at least not in this life, and I must move on, but I will always remember so that when I am a father I will try to have the best relationship possible with my son (and/or daughter) so that he has no regrets when I pass on.

Are you more proud of your accomplishments or your character?

Posted on Sep 24th, 2007 by MrBoheezee : Restorer of Balance MrBoheezee
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 24, 2007:

Milarepa
Very interesting question.

I would have to say i'm more proud of my character than my accomplishments.

I feel that character is more important than accomplishments, because I believe character determines the destiny of one's soul whereas accomplishments may only appear grand in this life, and even people with bad character can achieve 'great' accomplishments.

This may be a bad analogy, but take for instance Adolf Hitler.  Adolf Hitler in an attempt to garner support rallied for the invent of a car that every one could afford to own.  This sparked the birth of the Volkswagen brand of automobiles.  This could be deemed a great accomplishment, but Adolf Hitler had arguably one of the worst characters in history.
